Description The Cutout Table is an invaluable piece of furniture for children with physical disabilities, degenerative conditions, sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorders, challenging behaviours or distractibility. The height adjustable table is useful both in the classroom and at home, as well as in therapy clinics as it can easily be adjusted for use by different children. Because the table is height adjustable, a child can be sitting in an upright or ready sitting posture with their feet flat on the floor plus achieve front and side support from the table. This assists the child to feel more supported and provide extra prompts to sit upright as they start to fatigue and lean to one side. The cut out allows the child to be nice and close to the table so their arms and elbows can be supported and they have immediate access to the task in front of them. The proximity of the task, combined with the extra support from the rails enables a child to maximise their capacity to perform and participate in tabletop tasks. The rails are a standard addition to our Cutout Table as they provide support to a child in a range of situations. The rails prevent items like pencils, books and plates from being pushed over the edge and provide additional support for the child who struggles to stabilise themselves. A child with autism spectrum disorders, autistic tendencies and sensory processing disorders may feel the need to be enclosed and snug to feel safe and fulfill their sensory needs. The Cutout Table creates this safe space and encourages them to be more aware of where their body is in the space. Adjustability The Cutout Table is a height adjustable, steel frame square table with a semi-circle cut out on one side. The height of the table is adjusted by increasing/decreasing the length of the telescopic adjustable legs. The tabletop comes in two sizes, each with tabletop rails to prevent items from spilling off the table. Optional components for the Cutout Table include a slide-out tote tray, pin adjustable legs lockable castors. All our furniture is designed and manufactured in our Brisbane workshop and making an individual, custom-made piece just for you is one of our specialties. For added peace of mind, all our tables have been tested to AS/NZS 4610.3 : 1999 up to 75kg.
